My love for the outdoors has only grown stronger with time, and I’m passionate about sharing these experiences with others. Trip down memory lane - Washington - Herrington Country Park - Penshaw Monument - Corgi Pond - Victoria Viaduct

On 13th April 2025, I explored some of Washington’s most scenic and historically rich locations. My route included Princess Anne Park, Herrington Country Park, Penshaw Monument, Patterson Pond (commonly known as the Corgi Pond), and ended at the impressive Victoria Viaduct. Lake District - Hiking Wainwrights – Souther Fell - Bannerdale Crags - Mungrisdale Common - Great Calva -Bowscale Fell – 04 April 2025

On 4th April 2025, I set out on a circular hike covering five Wainwrights in the Northern Fells. These were Souther Fell, Bannerdale Crags, Mungrisdale Common, Great Calva, and Bowscale Fell. I started and finished the route in Mungrisdale village. The full loop was 14.25 miles and took 9 hours and 10 minutes to complete.

On the 29th of January 2025, I embarked on a hike to Ullscarf, Sergeant's Crag, and Eagle Crag. The ground was still frozen in places, yet where the snow had melted, it transformed into boggy terrain. The path from Stonethwaite follows Greenup Gill, which offers a picturesque walk, taking in the waterfalls.

Coledale Horseshoe (9-mile route) Lots of snow

On 9th January 2025, I embarked on the Coledale Horseshoe, a 9-mile circular route in the Lake District. The day was one of striking contrasts: deep snow drifts blanketed the fells, while the temperature plummeted to −4°C, with a biting windchill of −11°C. Brimham Rocks - Yorkshire Dales

On 11th December 2024, I visited Brimham Rocks in the Yorkshire Dales, a unique geological site famed for its dramatic rock formations. I arrived early to explore the area and spent four hours exploring the rocks like a young child marvelling at the natural sculptures scattered across the moorland. Each formation seemed more astonishing than the last, and the sheer scale of the site is amazing.

St Sunday Crag

On 9th December 2024, I set off on a hike to Stone Arthur, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Cofa Pike, and St Sunday Crag. The weather started off fine but soon deteriorated into cold wind and heavy rain, due to the weather I was unable to complete the five peaks I intended to do. The hike was 8.62 miles and took me 6hrs 43mins to complete.

Mosedale Horseshoe - Yewbarrow - Red Pike - Pillar, on the 11th Nov 2024, I set out from the car park near the Wasdale Head Inn to explore some of the Lake District’s iconic peaks. My plan was ambitious: Yewbarrow, Red Pike, Black Crag, Pillar, Pillar Rock, and Looking Stead, each known for distinct landscapes and rugged charm. The day began with a stunning view of Wast Water, England's deepest lake, plunging to depths of 258 feet (79 metres).

50 Year Ago

On 7th November 2024, I set out to explore three stunning locations in the Lake District – Hallin Fell, Aira Force, and Red Screes. Each site offered a unique experience, showcasing the rugged beauty of the area. Hallin Fell provided panoramic views and a satisfying climb, Aira Force was a mesmerizing waterfall tucked within a rich woodland, and Red Screes added an extra sense of achievement with its impressive elevation and breathtaking surroundings. Jacks Rake, Pavey Ark, Harrison Stickle and Pike o' Stickle

On 4th October 2024, I set out for an exhilarating hike from Stickle Ghyll car park, using PayByPhone to cover the parking charge. At the time of writing, the location code is 803361, and an all-day ticket costs £8.50. National Trust members, however, can enjoy the added benefit of free parking. From the car park, I followed a well-known path up to Stickle Tarn, then tackled the scramble up Jacks Rake to Pavey Ark. After catching my breath at the top, I continued on to Harrison Stickle and Pike of Stickle, conquering three Wainwrights in one day.

P&O Cruises' Iona was an amazing cruise ship, on its journey to Stavanger, Norway, we were treated amazing although I found the prize for 330ml tin of Bud very expensive. The city boasts a blend of old and new, with picturesque wooden houses in Gamle Stavanger and contemporary architecture. Nearby you have the majestic Lysefjord and the famous Pulpit Rock offer breathtaking views, which unfortunately I never managed to do - 8th July 2024 in 4K UHD

Walking up to CatstyCam
